New Opportunities in the Global Market

The International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services met on June 24-26 in the historical city of Vilnius, Lithuania, to conduct the annual meeting of its members. 50 country representatives joined to share ideas and common interests regarding the global exhibition market and especially this year regarding the Eastern European market.

On the 1st of May 2004 ten new countries have joined the EU. The motto of this year’s convention symbolizes the development of the market – the globalisation. Companies from the East co-operate with Western companies and companies from the West co-operate with Eastern companies. They all have the same target – the best service for their customers.High quality of professional speakers have given very interesting information through there lectures: Vereins and Westbank AG, Director Mr. W. Seemann; State Secretary of the Ministry for the economy of the republic of Lithuania, Mr. Gediminas Miskinis; Deputy General Director of ROSINEX, Russia, Mrs. Natalya Khimakova; Deputy Permanent Secretary for EU Affairs of the Government of the Republic of Lithunia, Mr. Petras Austrevicius and Dr. Hermann Kresse, Representative of UFI and General Director of Auma. Also Messe Düsseldorf, Project Manager Mrs. Susanne Weller, has contributed with interesting information from the Euroshop 2005.
