AIMFE AND IFES AT THE III CONGRESS OF SPANISH EXHIBITION ORGANISERS

The IIIrd  Congress of Spanish Exhibition Organisers (AFE) has been held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands) on September 13th and 14th.For the first time since the Congress of Spanish Fairs was established, AIMFE, as the representative of the Spanish exhibition services industry, has been invited to cover a session of the congress program. IFES was also invited to present an international perspective on the exhibition industry.

Mr. Leslie Zech, IFES President, opened the session explaining the objectives, philosophy, organization and history of IFES, which represents 1.300 companies 
in 13 countries.

 


He emphasised the significance of the IFES objective : “Sharing knowledge”: it is a concept that specifies the conditions of the present international market. Hence, IFES consideres Internet as the platform for this international dialogue. For example, through the IFES website chat room, the Techniques, Marketing and Education working groups have  increased their output and efficiency. Mr. Zech finished his contribution referring to  the excellent record of AIMFE in IFES and presenting the calendar of upcoming IFES.
  
 
Mr. José María Pérez de Olacoechea, AIMFE President, explained the AIMFE organization and activities and presented the different kind of stands exhibitors can use and the market tendencies.

 
He analysed the advantages and inconveniences of each stand model taking into account the present working conditions in the fairgrounds. He also proposed exciting views on the impact IT could have on the exhibition industry.
The IIIrd  Congress of Spanish Exhibition Organisers was dedicated to the internationalisation of Spanish exhibitions and the quality of the exhibition hall services.
