IFES Convention ”The power of events” held on June 20-21, 2002 in Saint-Paul-de-Vence with focus on subjects such as education, hygiene and security. Under the direction of the French association Federation Francaise des Metiers de l`Exposition the participants of the IFES Convention were welcomed by the the IFES President Leslie Zech (Austria) and French President Jacques Rigollier as well as the initiator of IFES, Roger Taurant. After interesting presentations and discussions with regard to hygiene and security the topic education was picked up through some cases of national concepts. A deep look into the trends of the event market gave the speech of an Daniel Charpentier of ANAE, the French assocation of event agencies . In order to relax the Convention visitors was given an example of a true French leisure activity called “pétanque”. The Convention was crowned by a gala party and ended with the meeting of the IFES board.
