Moss is continuing to invest in its production capabilities for the exhibition and event industry. With the commissioning of a new DURST P5 500 TEX iSUB, the company is expanding its large-format textile printing capacity and adding a powerful 5-meter sublimation printing system to its production infrastructure.
The investment responds to the growing demands of exhibition builders, event service providers and brands for larger formats, short lead times and reliable production processes.
With the new system, Moss can produce textile graphics with a frame dimension of up to 5,005 mm (using a 14 mm silicone edge). The maximum roll width is 5,150 mm. For exhibition and event applications, this means that even very large-format designs can be realised with fewer motif seams – and, within the possible dimensions, completely seamlessly.
More format. More flexibility. More production capacity.
Large-format textile graphics are a key element of modern exhibition stands, temporary brand spaces and event environments. At the same time, project timelines are becoming shorter and requirements for production and logistics are increasing.
The investment in the new 5-meter system is therefore not only about additional print width. Moss is also expanding its capacity to handle demanding large-format projects quickly and reliably.
Depending on the project and specification, 24- and 48-hour express production continues to be available. This gives exhibition builders and project partners additional planning security, particularly when graphics are required at short notice or changes occur close to an event.
“With this investment, we are significantly expanding what we can offer our customers in large-format textile printing. For exhibition and event projects, it is not only the five-meter format that matters. Short production times, reliable quality and efficient handling are equally important. The new technology allows us to combine all of these factors even more effectively,” says Peter Bottenberg, Managin Director at Moss Europe.
Advantages beyond production
The sublimation process also offers practical benefits throughout the logistics and installation process.
The printed textiles can be folded for shipping, reducing package dimensions and making transport easier. The comparatively low weight of textile graphics can further simplify handling during transport, storage and installation.
The sublimated surface is also particularly resistant to scratches and everyday handling – an important advantage in the exhibition environment, where graphics are regularly packed, transported and installed under tight schedules.
For XL applications, the increased print width provides another visible benefit: fewer motif seams mean fewer interruptions in large-scale designs, creating a cleaner and more consistent visual appearance.
Investment in quality and more sustainable production processes
With the new system, Moss is also expanding its capabilities in sublimation printing as part of the ongoing development of its production technologies.
The process uses water-based inks and requires no water in the printing process. It is compatible with rPET materials and produces low-odour textile graphics. In addition, reduced package dimensions and lower transport weight can contribute to more efficient logistics.
For Moss, the investment therefore combines three important requirements of modern exhibition production: high visual quality, fast and reliable production, and more resource-conscious processes.
The new DURST P5 500 TEX iSUB complements Moss’ existing printing technologies and gives customers and partners an additional production option for projects where large-format textile graphics, short lead times and efficient logistics are essential.
