Committees | Education Committee

The enterprise that does not “innovate” ages and declines. And in a period of rapid change such as the present, the decline will be fast.

Welcome to the heart of IFES learning: the Education Committee.

We are committed to developing valuable learning experiences for our global network, aligned with today’s needs and tomorrow’s challenges.

As members, this is YOUR education committee. We welcome your involvement:

  • Participation in the educational programs

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Committee Focus

We aim to organise at least one impactful Masterclass per year—designed around topics that resonate with our members.

Every year during the IFES World Summit, we consult with our network to determine the most relevant subjects and formats. Thanks to the 2025 Summit insights, we’re ready to move forward with our next initiative: Leadership program, how do we lead in times of change and transformation?  Smaller subjects may be done virtually.

Do you have a great topic, a fantastic speaker, or a venue idea? Please reach out! This is your committee—we grow through your input.

Key Initiatives

  • Tailored Educational Programs
We are developing educational initiatives, such as Masterclasses, that address the interests and needs of our members. Topics will include international similarities and differences, AI, sales, regulations, and more.
  • Inclusive Outreach
Our programs are inclusive, catering to all levels within organisations from entry-level employees to top executives.
  • Event Integration
We connect with existing major events where our peers are already present, such as EXHIBITORLIVE, BOE International, Euroshop, and IMEX. This approach will allow us to be more sustainable by reducing the need for multiple travels, thereby minimising our environmental footprint.
  • Collaboration with Fellow Institutes
We seek to cooperate with leading organisations like UFI, EDPA, ESSA, GMA, ICCA and IAPCO. These collaborations will enhance our reach and impact, ensuring we stay at the forefront of industry trends and developments.

Where you will find us

We believe in connecting to existing events, rather than creating new ones. This is sustainable, efficient, and brings us closer to where members already are.
That’s why we’ll be present with educational content across all five days of EuroShop 2026 hosting sessions on the Expo + Event Stage. These sessions will be led by our own committee member, Han Leenhouts.

Other anchor events might include:

1.EXHIBITORLIVE
2. BOE International
3. IMEX
4. …and more!

Of course, participation depends on collaboration with hosting organisations, and we’re actively engaging with all institutions we’ve signed MOUs with. Updates will follow via newsletters or during the next AGM in Dubai.

Networking brings us closer to each other

Based on the positive feedback from the 2025 World Summit in Guadalajara, we will now also take responsibility for the networking event at future IFES World Summits. Our launch in Mexico—organised by Lee and Han—was a success, and we aim to refine and expand this format going forward.

Sustainability and Efficiency

Our commitment to sustainability is paramount. By aligning our activities with existing events and fostering partnerships with other organisations, we optimise resources and reduce travel. This strategy not only supports environmental sustainability but also ensures that our members can access high-quality education and networking opportunities in a more efficient manner.

Vision for the Future

Our vision is centred around continuous learning and maintaining strong connections within our community. We believe in the power of education to drive professional growth and innovation. By staying connected and adapting to the changing needs of our members, we are confident in our ability to support their success in our ever-evolving industry.
