A future-proof events industry thinks about resources in a circular economy: materials are avoided wherever possible, used efficiently, reused, and then returned to suitable material cycles. This holds great potential, especially for trade fairs and exhibitions with temporary structures, changing requirements, and numerous stakeholders. Forward-looking planning, transparent material decisions, and close collaboration along the value chain help to reduce waste, conserve resources, and develop economically viable solutions.

The “Guide to Future-Ready Resource Management in the Exhibition Industry: Refuse – Reuse – Return,” is a guideline jointly developed by AUMA and fwd: from Germany, offering practical guidance to trade fair companies, organisers, exhibitors, and service providers around the globe. It compiles industry experience and presents concrete approaches for using materials more efficiently, increasing their reuse, and making existing processes more circular. Checklists, communication templates, sample wording for tenders and orders, and a one-pager in 14 languages ​​support implementation in day-to-day operations.
