22.02.2023 | IFES Press Releases, News | 0 comments

IFES, International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services, is Exhibitor, Content partner as well as Homebase for the international Exhibition industry. The Association’s 500 sqm large stand is situated in Hall 1, Stand C64.

 IFES Global Village

The IFES Global Village is a little community in the Hall 1, Expo+Event Dimension at EuroShop. Central to our 17-stand Village is the “IFES market place”, where Visitors are more than welcome to meet, network and seek out new partners for existing or upcoming projects.

IFES will be showcasing its upcoming activities, including our presence at ExhibitorLIVE in Kentucky and our World Summit 2023, in Singapore in June as well as our development initiatives.

Sustainability

IFES is a first-mover on many relevant issues, one of which is sustainability. We are excited to elaborate on our global network’s uniquely sustainable way of working. Our trusted partners provide services locally anywhere in the world, thereby removing shipping and transport considerations, so that working with IFES members significantly reduces the carbon footprint and environmental impact of our customers’ exhibition or event. We believe that it is not only possible, but imperative to “Work local, globally!”

We have embarked on several initiatives over the past year towards embedding sustainability into the DNA of our industry, including pledging our support to the Net Carbon Zero Events movement and driving an Association-wide Sustainability movement including group ISO 20121 certification (more available in separate Press Releases).

IFES is partnering with fwd, and Messe Düsseldorf to bring you the “Think Sustainably–Act Responsibly stand (Hall 1 at Stand C65) at EuroShop – part of the Sustainable Trade Fair imperative. This is where Exhibitors can explore solutions across the 5 crucial points of Planning, Conception, Consulting, Logistics and Implementation, discuss their latest ideas with the experts, learn how to reduce, reuse and recycle their manufacturing materials and take their logistics a step further toward sustainability.

 Contribution to offsetting

IFES is carbon footprint conscious and has calculated the impact of the Global Village at EuroShop 23, including all materials used (flooring, fabric, rigging, furniture, etc.) and the transport thereof. Most of the Exhibition elements are rental goods which will be reused (furniture, signage etc and roughly 10% of the wooden flooring) whilst other goods such as the fabric backdrops and carpeting are recycled product which will be further recycled after this project. The intention is to recycle the MonECOlino carpeting to serve as tables at our upcoming IFES World Summit in Singapore.

All carbon emissions will be compensated via a project in Turkey, in consideration of the recent earthquake disaster in that region.

Thank you to IFES member, Holtmann+  which has played a major role in realizing this process by extending their expertise and assisting with organisation; as well as to  “Fokus Zukunft” (www.fokus-zukunft.com), which will sponsor the evaluation.

IFES Talent Team

Our IFES Talent Team – the next Generation of Exhibition and Event professionals, is a group of young and motivated industry professionals, eager to learn, and teach, about latest trends.

Together with the experienced members, ITT aims to bring “fresh wind” to our industry, make a valuable impact on the association and inspire long-established company leaders to meet customer needs optimally by developing skills for the future of the industry.

ITT Committee representatives will be available to engage with industry entrants, interested under-40’s company representatives, students and visitors at the Newcomer / Students breakfast at the IFES Stand from 10.30 am on Thursday 2nd March. They will also present at the Expo + Event Stage later the same day.

17 IFES Members will be exhibiting together with IFES at the Global Village:

Since the range of Exhibitors covers the globe, the title “Global Village” is eminently suitable.

Only the best ideas can be an IDIA

In addition, the Global Village will host the winners of the IDIA, IFES Development + Innovation Award. Now in its second year, this award is presented every three years at EuroShop with the aim of honouring outstanding innovations and developments in the trade show and event industry. This is where you can explore the very latest groundbreaking projects, products and services being showcased across the aisle next to the Expo+Event-Stage and discover the brightest IDIA’s that will take the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards for their efforts.

The IDIA Awards Ceremony will take place at the Expo+Event Stage on 26 February starting at 17:00. (Further information on IDIA can be found in a separate Press release).
