In 2026, we are introducing the very first module in our new IFES Online Training Series – designed exclusively for members and curated in partnership with Expedite.
A Three-Part Workshop Series for IFES Members
IFES is launching an inspiring new three-session online workshop series designed to help members confidently step into the world of generative AI. Built as a clear learning journey, the series guides participants from understanding the basics to applying AI directly in their day-to-day tasks.
- The program begins with an Orientation Session that builds a shared understanding of generative AI. Participants learn what generative AI is (and what it is not), how large language models work in practical terms, and why this technology is advancing so rapidly. We explore real-world examples from the industry to demonstrate how AI is already reshaping workflows, decision-making, and service delivery. The session also addresses common concerns such as reliability, ethics, data security, and job impact, creating space for open discussion and alignment across the team..
- In the second session, participants move from theory to operational insight by breaking down their own processes to task level using Lean methodology. Instead of discussing AI in abstract terms, we systematically deconstruct workflows into concrete, repeatable tasks. This structured process mapping allows teams to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and repetitive work. From there, we translate these task-level insights into practical AI opportunities directly connected to their own responsibilities. Special focus areas often include marketing, communication, data analysis, reporting, design, and visualization. By the end of this session, participants have a clear overview of where AI can realistically create measurable value within their daily work
- The final session is fully hands-on and implementation-focused. Participants work directly with accessible tools such as ChatGPT in guided exercises tailored to their specific work context. They practice prompt design, learn how to refine outputs, and develop a structured approach to collaborating effectively with AI. In addition, participants build their own custom GPT, designed around their role, team, or organization-specific needs. This ensures they leave not just with general knowledge, but with a practical AI assistant configured for their real-world tasks. The training is beginner-friendly yet strategically grounded, enabling immediate application and sustainable adoption from day one.
