On Thursday October 30th IFES and CLC-VECTA join forces in this webinar about Better Stands. Are you curious about this tool and how it can help you as an organiser, standbuilder or venue towards more sustainable and efficient exhibitions? Join us for this deep dive into the framework, delivered by Joerg Zeissig, President, and Gregor Bischkopf, Executive Director of IFES.
After a short introduction by Han Leenhouts, active in both the CLC-VECTA and IFES board, Joerg and Gregor will be unpacking how the framework works in depth, the benefits it brings to organisers, exhibitors and contractors, and the practical steps to participate. A company that already took the step to participate, is RAI Amsterdam. Hanna Rentmeester, Sustainability manager, will share their experience with the framework. After their presentations there is plenty of time for questions and answers. A full Q&A sheet will be made available afterwards.
This briefing is an opportunity to understand how Better Stands can add value to your business while contributing to a fundamental shift in how our industry manages resources and reduces waste. So join us!
Please note: this webinar is in English. Q&A sheet will be available in both Dutch and English
What is Better Stands?
Better Stands is a global movement driving the transition from single-use booths to reusable stands, delivering efficient, safer and more sustainable exhibitions. Re-launched in June 2025 under the stewardship of IFES and hosted by Net Zero Carbon Events, the initiative is now open for adoption across the global events ecosystem – by organisers, service providers, venues and associations alike.
Better Stands is underpinned by a practical and easily accessible 10-point checklist. This framework recognises achievement at Bronze, Silver or Gold levels, supporting a gradual transition towards fully reusable stand builds. With over 50,000 stands already assessed, the initiative has proven its ability to deliver efficiency, cost savings and measurable sustainability benefits.
Guided by a Steering Committee of leading organisations from across the industry, Better Stands is not just a framework – it’s a collective commitment to eliminating single-use booths by the end of the decade.
