Dear IFES Friends,
Recent updates from UFI, IAPCO, and national associations confirm what we’ve been seeing—Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and Africa are key growth regions for the global exhibitions industry. These dynamic areas are rich in opportunity, and IFES has great potential to strengthen our presence there.
Asia-Pacific now surpasses Europe in exhibition space, but it’s about more than size. These regions are vibrant, fast-growing, and home to innovation that’s shaping our industry’s future.
Why should IFES be more active in these regions?
Together, Latam, APAC, and Africa account for over 80% of the world’s population. Their economies are accelerating, driven by urbanisation, rising middle classes, and youthful populations eager for progress in technology, education, and sustainability. Countries like Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, Kenya, and India are not just large markets but strategic gateways to wider regions.
Infrastructure is improving rapidly, with new venues and better connectivity making cities like Jakarta, Nairobi, and São Paulo ideal for international events. These regions are also buzzing with innovation, and exhibitions play a crucial role in bringing new ideas to a global stage.
These are not just emerging markets—they are emerging leaders. For IFES, engaging here isn’t just a good idea—it’s essential. That’s why our 2025 World Summit in Guadalajara is such a timely step forward.
Looking forward to seeing all of you very soon
Warm wishes,
Jorg Zeissig
President, IFES
