As part of this passionate and forward-thinking community, I am honoured to share my thoughts in this edition of our newsletter. At IFES, we have always stood for collaboration, innovation, and the power of shared knowledge. Today, as our industry continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, it is more important than ever to embrace new perspectives, foster inclusivity, and harness the true potential of mentorship in all its forms. ITT is one of the key pillars in building the future of our community and deserves a more visible stage.
Leadership is not just about securing a seat at the table—it’s about ensuring that every voice at that table is heard. It’s about breaking down barriers, challenging outdated norms, and embracing a culture of continuous learning. One of the most powerful ways to do this is through reverse mentorship, where emerging talents share fresh insights with experienced leaders. This type of dynamic exchange fosters innovation, bridges generational gaps, and strengthens the future of our industry. When knowledge flows in both directions, we all benefit and make our companies fit for the future. Established leaders gain a deeper understanding of new trends, technologies, and ways of thinking, while emerging professionals receive invaluable guidance and career acceleration. This is not just a concept – it is a pattern that helps shape the future of leadership.
At our upcoming World Summit, this subject will be highlighted in a panel, Breaking Barriers: Taking a Seat at the Table & The Power of Reverse Mentorship, where we will discuss how professionals at all levels can navigate their leadership journeys, gain visibility, and build the skills needed to make an impact. More importantly, together we will explore how embracing mentorship—both traditional and reverse—can accelerate career growth, foster inclusivity, and drive meaningful change in our industry.
