Boesingheliede, 23 February 2026 – Van Straaten today launches its third 5-metre dye-sublimation printer: the Durst P5 500 TEX iSUB. A decade after achieving a world first with its initial 5-metre system in 2016, the company now takes another major step forward in capacity, efficiency and sustainability.
The new-generation printer offers a maximum print width of 520 centimetres, integrated inline fixation and production speeds of up to 160 m² per hour. This enables Van Straaten to triple its effective 5-metre textile capacity while reducing lead times and simplifying its workflow.
Higher output, lower environmental impact
The 520 centimetre print width is particularly relevant for the exhibition and stand-building market, where many aluminium frame systems measure around 248 centimetres in height. Two full-size graphics can now be printed side by side in a single run, maximising material utilisation, reducing cutting waste and significantly increasing hourly output.
By integrating the calender directly into the printer, fixation and printing are combined in one continuous process. This eliminates separate fixation steps, reduces handling and internal transport, and lowers energy consumption. Together with improved material efficiency, this results in a substantially lower environmental impact per square metre produced.
Optimised production environment
The installation required structural adjustments at the production facility in Boesingheliede, near Schiphol Airport. A dedicated, climate-controlled room with its own cooling system has been created to ensure process stability. Calibrated daylight lighting enables accurate colour assessment under controlled conditions.
“With the Durst P5 500 TEX iSUB, we have fundamentally optimised our production process,” says Niels van Straaten, Managing Director of Van Straaten. “We combine higher output with lower material waste and reduced energy consumption. For our customers, that translates into speed, reliability and a more sustainable solution.”
With this investment, Van Straaten further strengthens its position as a high-capacity and sustainability-driven partner for international brands and exhibition builders.
