For 35 years, EXHIBITOR magazine has hosted the world’s most prestigious exhibit-design competition, honoring the crème de la crème of trade show exhibits from all over the globe. And for more than a decade, the publication has recognized the most impressive pavilions at world expos in Shanghai at China’s Expo 2010, Yeosu at South Korea’s Expo 2012, Milan at Italy’s Expo 2015, and Astana at Kazakhstan’s Expo 2017. Now, EXHIBITOR is bringing the competition to Dubai’s Expo 2020.

“EXHIBITOR has a legacy of honoring exceptional experiential design, and world expos are a significant part of the publication’s DNA,” said Travis Stanton, editor of EXHIBITOR magazine. “The entire face-to-face marketing industry the modern cousin of early world expos. And our Expo Awards competition is now more than a decade old and has celebrated work representing countries and companies from Monaco to Malaysia and Korea to Qatar. What’s more, EXHIBITOR senior writer Charles Pappas is the internationally renowned author of ‘Flying Cars, Zombie Dogs, and Robot Overlords: How World’s Fairs and Trade Expos Changed the World.’ So to say we’re looking forward to seeing what Dubai has in store for us is an understatement.”

“Our World Expo Awards competition gives individual pavilions an opportunity to spotlight the sometimes-under-appreciated effort and imagination that goes into everything from their use of technology to their overall design,” said Pappas. “It is a well-earned and highly coveted pat on the back for the design firms, architects, fabrication companies, exhibit directors, docents, and everyone else who poured their blood sweat and tears into the common goal of making Expo 2020 unforgettable.”
