MATERIALS DATABASE

MATERIALS DATABASE

Sustainability is a prominent topic across all sectors, and the Trade Show and Events industry has been at the forefront of this initiative. This is our business, and we are committed to driving sustainability within our industry.

We recognise that carbon calculation is essential for improving our carbon footprint; however, the models currently available are not always relevant to our methods of using materials for temporary construction and specifically the potential for reusing these materials to further reduce our footprint.

As a community, we are well-positioned to develop a model tailored specifically for our industry, created by industry professionals. We believe that effective carbon calculation for our workspace must begin with a common foundation. Therefore, we invite you, our industry stakeholders, to contribute to the materials database we are building in support of the Net Zero Carbon Events (NZCE) Measurement.

The Materials Database will cover our shared areas of operation, such as stand production, signage, and flooring, along with appropriate carbon conversion factors (emission factors) for accurate calculations. This will enable us to determine the emissions associated with materials commonly used at our events. By utilising our shared criteria, we can advance this agenda from a solid foundation.

We encourage you to share this request as widely as possible to ensure that everyone’s input is included in the final product.
