IFES stands for sustainability at the IFES World Summit 2017 in La Grande Motte

The sustainable Committee wants to reach ambitious goals

Sustainability reaches far beyond its traditional borders of protecting the Earth. Sustainability is an official goal and engagement of the international community – signed up on COP 21, going with strong policies on our main business places.

In Europe, for instance, the EU non-financial reporting obligation is effective since the begin of 2017.

The sustainability committee welcomed in Istanbul a dynamic group and hope to do so in La Grande Motte to get positive strengths and develop a constructive programme for our members.

Proudly sustainable

We have now our IFES Label that we will use in our internal and external communication around sustainability. We aim to share amazing projects, clever solutions, best practices with our members and partners. Let’s make it real during the World Summit 2017 in La Grande Motte.

A few highlights of the program

Better than yesterday, less than tomorrow…

The IFES congress, our yearly main event, will become, for at least the coming three years, a living showcase of implementing sustainability and CO₂ reporting in the event industry.

Our goal: Involve and train our members to Impact measuring and CO₂  tracking

By using ECOLOGES we will focus on accurate and meaningful figures and arguments, making understand that sustainability is much more than a concept!

A shared commitment

To involve every conventioneer into the “Green Revolution” of La grande Motte, we will ask every participant to sign the Charte of Ifes Sustainability Commitment, accepting the following items:

• Encourage local integration
• Promote best practices and inform about it, in order to provide a legacy to the event industry
• Limit the environmental impact of the congress

Professional speakers

Friday afternoon will be dedicated to Sustainability.Green Events will bring its expertise in this project, explaining the global certification ISO 20121, the audience representing our industry will be solicited to bring its experience and opinion.

Sustainability as a driver

France is candidate for the 2025 World Exposition and sustainability will be one of the main items! We invite you to discover the project and to get some insights about the main challenges for the involved teams and partners.

Our annual Meeting

The last but not the least, we organize the 2^nd sustainable committed workshop in La Grande Motte on Wednesday 21 at 10 am. And we wait for your support.You will soon receive an invitation with our agenda!
